Playbox Vetokuja Has Closed, Thank You for the Journey

After an incredible journey, we want to share that Playbox in Vetokuja, Vantaa has now officially closed its doors.

This is not an announcement we ever hoped to make, and it comes with a mix of emotions. What started as an ambitious idea to create a unique indoor sports space became something much bigger thanks to the people and organisations who believed in us, supported us, trained with us, competed with us, and helped build a real sporting community.

To every customer who booked a session, attended an event, brought friends, introduced us to others, or simply supported what we were trying to build thank you. Your encouragement meant more than you know.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many clubs, teams, and communities that made Playbox feel alive. From cricket clubs and players across Finland and beyond, to baseball and pesäpallo teams who embraced the space, your support helped shape what Playbox became.

We would like to give special thanks to:

  • Cricket Finland – for your trust, collaboration, and partnership throughout our journey. Learn more at Cricket Finland
  • Baseball Finland – for supporting the growth of bat-and-ball sports and engaging with our facility. Visit Baseball Finland
  • Estonian Cricket Association – for your friendship, support, and collaboration across borders. Learn more at Estonian Cricket Association

We are incredibly proud of what was achieved at Playbox. From hosting training sessions and introducing new players to cricket, football, baseball, and pesäpallo, to creating one of the most unique indoor cricket training environments in Europe, the memories made in Vetokuja will stay with us.

While this chapter is closing, we do not necessarily see this as the end.

We are actively exploring what comes next and encourage everyone to keep an eye out for updates on the future of Playbox.

At the same time, if you are interested in helping us find a new location, partnering with us, investing in the future of the concept, or supporting the next phase of this venture, we are very open to discussions. We still strongly believe in what Playbox can become and the role it can play in growing indoor sport and community in Finland.

For now, all we can say is: thank you.

Thank you for believing in Playbox. Thank you for being part of the journey. This is not goodbye, just the end of one chapter.

The Playbox Team
